Any modern browser

Web based digital signage: run LOOP in any browser.

The LOOP web player turns any device with a modern browser into a digital signage screen. Open player.loopdigitalsignage.com, enter the activation code and the screen starts playing. Nothing to install on Windows, Mac or Linux PCs, Chromebox, tablets or smart TVs.

First screen free. No credit card required.

How the LOOP web player works

Nothing to install

Open the player URL in a browser, enter the activation code and the screen is live.

Runs on hardware you own

Windows, Mac and Linux PCs, Chromebox, tablets and smart TVs with a modern browser.

Full-screen kiosk on Windows

Chrome kiosk mode opens LOOP full screen at every sign-in, with no browser bars.

One dashboard for every screen

Manage browser screens next to your Android, Samsung, LG and Amazon Signage screens with the same playlists.

Supported devices: PCs, Chromebox, tablets and smart TVs

Browser setup is the most flexible way to run LOOP. It needs a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge) with JavaScript enabled and an internet connection.

Windows, Mac and Linux PCs

Any desktop or mini PC with Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. On Windows, use Chrome kiosk mode for a dedicated screen.

Chromebox and ChromeOS

Chromebox and other ChromeOS devices run the web player in Chrome. Open the player URL, enter the activation code and go full screen.

Tablets

iPad and Android tablets in the browser. For Android tablets, the LOOP Android app adds more device control.

Smart TVs with a browser

Any smart TV with a modern web browser. Samsung, LG and TCL displays also have their own LOOP apps.

How to set up the LOOP web player

1

Open the web browser on the device that runs the screen.

3

Enter the activation code in your LOOP account.

4

The screen starts showing your content automatically.

Best practices: use full screen (F11), turn off browser notifications and pop-ups, stop the device from sleeping or starting a screensaver, and use a dedicated browser profile for signage.

Videos with sound: browsers only autoplay videos when they are muted. To play video sound on a dedicated screen, allow sound for player.loopdigitalsignage.com in the browser’s site settings, or use the Windows kiosk shortcut below, which turns this limit off.

Windows PCs

Windows digital signage with Chrome kiosk mode

Turn a Windows PC into a dedicated digital signage player: Chrome opens the LOOP web player full screen every time Windows signs in, with no browser bars or menus.

1

Install Google Chrome. Open player.loopdigitalsignage.com in Chrome and activate the screen once.

2

Right-click the desktop, choose New, then Shortcut, and paste the target below. The --autoplay-policy=no-user-gesture-required flag lets videos play with sound.

3

Press Windows + R, type shell:startup and move the shortcut into that folder, so LOOP opens at every sign-in.

4

Set Windows to sign in automatically, and set Screen and Sleep to Never in Power settings.

"C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --kiosk https://player.loopdigitalsignage.com --no-first-run --noerrdialogs --autoplay-policy=no-user-gesture-required

Why Chrome and not the Windows kiosk setting? The built-in Windows kiosk runs Microsoft Edge in an InPrivate session, which doesn’t keep site data, so the screen can lose its LOOP activation when Edge restarts. To leave kiosk mode, press Alt + F4.

FAQ

Web based digital signage FAQ

What is web based digital signage?

Web based digital signage runs the signage player in a web browser instead of an installed app or a dedicated media player. With LOOP, any device with a modern browser opens player.loopdigitalsignage.com and plays your content on a schedule, managed from one cloud dashboard. See how LOOP works.

Which browsers work with the LOOP web player?

Modern versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, with JavaScript enabled and an internet connection. Chromebox and ChromeOS devices work too. For a dedicated Windows screen, Chrome in kiosk mode works best. See supported devices.

How do I run digital signage on a Windows PC?

Install Chrome, activate the LOOP web player once, then add a Chrome kiosk shortcut for player.loopdigitalsignage.com to the Windows Startup folder. LOOP then opens full screen every time Windows signs in. See the Windows kiosk steps.

Why don’t videos play with sound in the web player?

Browsers block videos with sound from starting on their own; only muted videos autoplay. On a Windows signage PC, the Chrome kiosk shortcut on this page adds --autoplay-policy=no-user-gesture-required, which lets videos play with sound. In other browsers, allow sound for player.loopdigitalsignage.com in the site settings. See the Windows kiosk steps.

Does the web player keep playing if the internet drops?

Yes. The web player stores your content on the device and keeps playing from its cache, then syncs changes when the connection is back. See the full feature list.

What other players does LOOP support?

Any browser can be a signage screen.

Open the LOOP web player, activate your first screen and start free.
